Nimoy’s voice really emphasizes Rome’s grandeur. Being a classics student we rarely are able to watch any such forms of information in class because of their generality and typically not scholarly enough. Although it may be true that such documentary’s do not count as scholarly sources they nonetheless show how Rome is portrayed in the minds of the non-classically educated. Although, I cant help feeling that by pushing such forms of sensationalized depictions of the classical era away in a sense loses the very reason why I decided to major in classics in the first place….just my opinion. Thanks for posting. Love your blog. Actually, I wrote a paper on your blog, you are my favourite classicist. Keep up the great work.
