The Department of Classics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Latin
literature, with an emphasis on prose, to begin fall semester, 2010.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. at the time of the appointment,
demonstrated excellence in scholarly research and publication, and
possess a broad interest in both graduate and undergraduate teaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full range of
courses, including Latin language and literature, literature in
translation, and Roman civilization, as well as to advise M.A. theses
and Ph.D. dissertations. We welcome special interests in linguistics,
