Must be a very slow news day for the Mirror, FWIW:
I’m sure plenty of Classicists can come up with a list of Classical ‘bloopers’ (heck, when I taught ‘The Ancient World in Film’ we spent a whole class dissecting this one race …). The most obvious (to me) was that Judah Ben Hur doesn’t wrap the reins around his body (as is attested in myriad images of ancient chariot racing) … stuffing the knife into his belt (as he does in the preliminaries) doesn’t make any sense otherwise either.
