The Department of the Classics at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a nine-month, full-time,
non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer with a target start
date of August 16, 2014. The position may be renewed based on
availability of funding, enrollments and strong performance reviews.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Applicants must have a PhD in Classics or in a relevant field by the
starting date of the appointment. The successful candidate will be
expected to engage in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preference will be given to applicants with interests in Greek
literature and culture. Teaching responsibilities include six courses
annually, of which at least four will be Classical Civilization courses
and one will be an advanced undergraduate/graduate reading course in Greek.
