Just when you think you can’t read anything in the Daily Mail that will surprise you (inter alia):
Alexander Thynn, the 7th Marquess of Bath, is a descendant of the Roman historian Tacitus and is well known for his alternative views on relationships.
… I’d love to see that family tree in print … this guy sounds more like he’s related to Turdulus Gallicanus than Tacitus …
Over the years it has been claimed that he is descended from Tacitus in the telegraph http://tinyurl.com/5vrpcwq, , the indepedent, http://tinyurl.com/6kkrhu6,and according to ‘This is Bristol’ he claims this for himself- http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Murder-scandal-treason-dark-story-Lord-Bath-s-family-revealed/story-11286146-detail/story.html
wierd…
wow … so I guess we can let the Daily Mail off (sort of) ..
He’s probably claiming descent from Emperor Tacitus. He’s descended for real from Charlemagne and a bunch of Franks et al, so there’s probably a supposed Roman/Italian/Goth connection somewhere.
